Roast chicken should be really simple but most people get it wrong. Although no technology is needed and there are no secret ingredients that make the roast better, it seems that the results are never as great as you see with others.

Does this sound familiar?

You are not the only one. You can attempt many different recipes as you sometimes end up with an undercooked bird while in others, when you do the exact same thing, the chicken is overcooked. What can you do?

The truth is that roasting the perfect juicy chicken actually takes some practice. Do not worry if you get it wrong in the beginning. You will eventually master it and we have some tips to help you roast that juicy chicken.

Vegetable Play

At the bottom of your roasting pan you need to create a roasting surface and layered vegetables are the best. They will help avoid the situation in which bird skin becomes a mess and will add flavor all throughout the chicken. Try seasonal vegetables and get different flavors as you go through the year.

Generously Season

Did you notice that rotisserie chicken is always very good? This is because the chicken was simply pumped with salt and other spices. While so many try to make it really simple, the best roasted chicken is usually the one that is generously seasoned. However, there are some things you should know.

When you have just table salt, try to use lest as the processed salt will include too much iodine. This creates a metallic or bitter flavor. You surely have some seasoning basics you think about but you can go wild for an even better taste. Some of the preferred options are Truffle salt, smoked paprika, cumin and garam masala.

Do Not Be Afraid Of Fat

While losing weight is a priority for so many during summer, if you want the perfect roasted chicken you do want to slather it with olive oil or a good butter blend. They will give that color that you are so fond of and create the crispy crust everyone loves. Add the olive oil or the butter on the skin but also under it for a secondary layer. Under the skin of the chicken you can also add herbs, onions, garlic and lemon slices or other flavor enhancements you would love.

Conclusions

The problem with roasted chicken is not necessarily how you roast it. This is pretty straightforward and all you really need is an oven that maintains the same flame intensity while the chicken is in it. What makes roasted chicken perfect is what you add in the form of vegetables and spices, together with fat, of course. Experiment and as soon as you get a great combination and you love the result, experiment some more.
