We arrived in Japan in excitement, as it was the first night of our month long holiday in Japan. We were looking for inspiration for some dinner, so we asked our friendly hotel concierge for some suggestions. He promptly suggested that a good restaurant to try that was close by was "Ko Na Ya".

When we arrived at the restaurant, even though the waiter at the door had limited understanding of English, he promptly referred us to the menu and had an English card of instructions that he pointed at so we could communicate quite easily. It was a nice, cosy place inside, they specialised in curry soup noodles (ie. noodles/udon in a Japanese curry soup base). The noodles I ordered were nice, the udon was a good texture, and the soup base had a strong curry taste, but not overpowering. I also tried some of my friend's fried battered Japanese mushrooms, they were crispy and succulent.

Ko Na Ya is a good place to try if you are looking to taste authentic Japanese curry soup noodles.
