We had on our food list to make sure we tried some "fush and chups" in New Zealand....so we decided to do this as we went through the cute little town of Arrowtown....it was a lovely place...that maintained alot of the historical facades for shops in the area...it was like taking a step back in time....it is definitely worth a visit.

We headed on over to the Fish and Chip shop - Fresh Fish Brothers.....

The fellow who served us behind the counter was very friendly and nice.....I asked him what the locals ate...and he mainly said Blue Cod ...and Kumara chips....so I opted for a beer battered Blue cod....I later found out that kumara...was sweet potato....the owner told us that the NZ folk liked fried Kumara chips ...rather than the standard potato chips....so we had to give it a go! I also wanted to try a crumbed scallop...

The blue cod fillet was nice and big...and the meat was very fresh and moist....just delicious....we ordered some of their homemade tartare sauce too....this was nice and chunky and went really well with the fish....the scallop was also big, juicy and you can taste the freshness of it....just yum!

As for the Kumara chips....this was very nice....a very interesting twist to the usual of potato chips...it had a very delicate flavour and was a nice change to normal potato chips....

NZ also has lots of nice organic juices...so I thought I would try their "Feijoa & Apple" juice.....it was very refreshing ...sort of tasted a bit like guava and apple...very nice....
