Being the foodie that I am, I decided to go to the Good Food & Wine Show and immerse myself in food for the day....what else is there better to do really?

As soon as I walked in, my senses were overwhelmed with a bombardment of food offers from all directions. There was a very large variety of stalls available to check out: meat, dairy, bread, snacks, sauces, homewares, chocolates, sweets, and a whole section of wine stalls. It was like a kid being in a candy store, you wanted to try everything but your stomach is only so big. My friend and I stayed there for nearly 6 hours but still didn't get a chance to cover all stalls..here are some of the highlights for me:

* Movenpick Ice cream - this was very smooth and flavoursome, I tried the chocolate, mango and raspberry flavours; my personal favourite of the 3 was the chocolate flavour as it had a very rich chocolate flavour and yummy chocolate bits in it.

* Lindemans Early Harvest - I am not a huge wine fan, but I must say that I did enjoy the new range out from Lindemans - Early Harvest...it is a light alcohol variety that is very crisp and light in taste....perfect for summers....and those like me that are not huge wine drinkers.

* South Cape Persian Fetta Cheese - I am usually not much of a fetta cheese eater as I find it quite salty, however the "Persian Fetta" was very smooth and delicious, it is a fetta that has been infused with herbs/spices and olive oil....perfect on crackers.

* Amoy Dim Sim - Siao Mao at Ettason booth - there was a variety of frozen dim sims available for tastings, I was impressed with the siao mao, it was juicy, succulent and had a lovely seafood taste to it.

* Cocoa Farm Chocolate - this was the standout chocolate stall....very innovative and tasty, they had some chocolates that were infused with red wine...nice idea....their chocolate was smooth and rich in flavour.

* Last but not least, I was thoroughly entertained and educated by Matt Moran at the Celebrity Chef cooking show, he really engaged the audience with his sense of humour, and I admired his guts to do "politically incorrect" humour. The dishes he made looked yum...tempura prawns, chicken dish and a raspberry tart....even seeing the dishes from a distance was a treat....

Overall, a pleasant day filled with a spectrum of flavours .....so much so that dinner was not necessary as I was filled to the brim.
