You know that moment when you come home from a long trip, and you’re anxious just to relax with your family and enjoy the comforting foods of home?

It becomes a little more complicated when the long holiday was spent with your family, indulging in your favourite foods from home. But, that’s what you get when you have two homes and families.

Still, it’s nice to do exactly that – especially when a new café has opened within walking distance from your home while you were away.

It’s even nicer when you’ve got a bottle of incredible wine that you can’t wait to open. Perhaps it’s better still when you don’t need to make any sort of menu decisions; when the establishment says “hey, this is what we’re cooking up this Saturday evening.”

At least, I love that.

We savoured beautiful tapas dips with freshly baked flat breads as we sipped the delectable wine (it was given as a gift, and I just needed the excuse to open it). The food was lovingly presented but didn’t carry any airs with it.

And then, the mains of chicken, lamb, and more… The kids, my boyfriend, his mother, and I couldn’t help but relax and enjoy the evening as we tasted the fresh and well-prepared meal in front of us. We passed plates and scooped sides as we laughed and enjoyed the evening.

That’s exactly when it hit me that having more than one home is so delicious. And it’s wonderful to find myself in either one.
