Walking down little alleys are just fun to do...and why not walk down an alley chockablock with ramen shops? We walked around the block trying to find this "Sapporo Raumen Yokocho"....we couldn't seem to find it...up and down we went.....then..finally....we noticed the little alley entrance peeking out of a street...wohoo! Such is the adventures of finding backstreet alleys...

We were impressed with the wide array of shops in the alley...there was also a useful map at the end of the alley showing what each ramen shop specialised in....how thoughtful...

We decided on a place at the end of the alley with a red sign (see picture below). The speciality in Sapporo is ramen with a slice of butter, so we decided to give it a try. The soup was flavoursome and the butter really brought a new dimension to the soup. The corn pieces also went well with the ramen. However, the bowl of noodles was quite large, and I struggled to finish it...

The ramen alley was a cool place worth finding....a definite destination for ramen lovers!
