We reached Hakata and went for a stroll from our hotel to find some lunch. We walked towards the Wholesale fish market to see if we could find anything for lunch on the way....we walked for a while and there wasn't much in sight.......then we noticed some yellow flags and a big stall across the road...we crossed to see what it was. What a lovely surprise! It was a rustic, comfy seafood grill stall.

We ordered some raw seafood (big scallops, prawns, snails, oysters) and found a grill to start grilling them ourselves. The smell of the seafood grilling in front of us was amazing.....all the seafood was fresh and tasty....I wasn't a fan of the snails, but everything else was good...my favourite was the big juicy prawns, and the scallops were delicious too. The sauces that were provided on the table complemented the seafood well, it was like a soya vinaigrette. Most of all, I loved the rustic feeling of putting on white cloth gloves to grill and eat the seafood (otherwise the shells would be too hot to touch). A refreshing and novel way to eat seafood...highly recommended!
