Long time no cravings stories, right? So it’s time to tell you that last week I craved a classic dish loved by everybody. As you already know from the title, I’m talking about Spaghetti Meatballs.

You have to admit that this dish is loved by children and adults in the same manner. There is something magical about classic comfort food dishes that unite all age groups into one large group of people with cravings.

You know I also love to add various twists to classic recipes or to cook with what I have in the house instead of going to the grocery store. For this recipe I used a delicious trick – instead of classic beef meatballs, I used Stuffed meatballs. The meatballs recipe is a recipe shared by one of my fellow eattheglobers. You can read it here. I highly recommend using the same recipe if you love cheese as much as I do.

Also please note that this entire recipe will make 4-6 servings so if you have guests this is the best comfort food you can serve!

Ingredients

For meatballs:

1 onion

12 small Mozzarella spheres

500 g ground beef

1 egg

1 slice of bread

50 ml milk

Follow the instructions from the Stuffed Meatballs recipe and make 12 large meatballs  but cook the meatballs only until brown (about one minute)

For pasta:

2 cans whole tomatoes with juice

60 ml Olive oil

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon dried oregano

500 g spaghetti

Parmesan for serving

Put the tomatoes and their juice into a food processor. Slowly stream in the olive oil and then stir in the garlic and oregano and season with salt and pepper. Pour the tomato sauce into the same pan and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add the meatballs, cover and reduce the heat to low. Simmer until the meatballs are cooked (about 30 minutes).

Cook pasta according to package instructions.

Add sauce over pasta and sprinkle with parmesan.

Enjoy!
