Spaghetti Sauce with Ground Beef

I'm in love with pasta dishes and I like to mix my favorite ingredients to see what result I will obtain. I usually start from a classic recipe but I never respect all the instructions.

I like pasta dishes so much because they are really easy to make and usually the cooking time is reasonable. I like to use whole wheat spaghetti. They are healthier and somehow I always eat less spaghetti when I use them.

Today I decided to eat pasta with beef and sauce since I had some ground beef in the fridge. Bolognese was an option but I was too lazy to go to the grocery store so I improvised with what I had in the fridge. I really liked the result so I decided to share the recipe with you.

Ingredients:

300 g ground beef

½ big carrot or one small carrot shredded or cut in small cubes

½ onion or one small onion finely chopped

½ ball pepper chopped

100 g black olives

250 g red pasta sauce (your favorite one or just add 250 tomato paste+one more small carrot and another ½ onion added according to the instructions bellow)

1 tablespoon chili

1 tablespoon oregano

150 g whole wheat spaghetti

2 tablespoons olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

Parmesan cheese to taste

Cook spaghetti according to package indications.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Saute the onion. When the onion is slightly yellow, add the beef and the pepper. Cook until the meat changes its color. Add the shredded carrot and mix everything. Cook for another two minutes then add the pasta sauce (tomato paste) into the mix. After two more minutes add olives, chili, salt and pepper.

Add the sauce over the spaghetti and add as much Parmesan cheese as you like.

That's it! You have a perfect meal for you and a dear friend!
