When my family’s supposed trip to Legoland in Malaysia was cancelled, we had no other choice but to spend an entire day in Johor Bahru’s City Square so that our two-hour trip from Singapore will not go to waste. We just decided to hang out in the mall because, well, we had no choice.

So as we roam around the JB City Square, we discovered a one-of-a-kind restaurant with a unique concept. Since we haven’t seen anything like it in Manila, we decided to give it a go. After all, the chance to dine while sitting on a toilet bowl does not come very often.

Yes, you heard that right. Eating in a toilet bowl, that is what the T-bowl Concept Restaurant is all about. Its unique interiors will remind you of your typical bathroom, with sinks, urinals, toilet bowls, showers, and stool. They also have those Japanese toilet fixtures in some parts of the restaurant.

The toilet theme does not stop in the decorations. Even their serving dishes are also based on the same concept as well. The plates will remind you of the toilet seat cover, while the drinking mugs are also shaped as mini toilet bowls.

T-Bowl Concept Restaurant offers a wide range of dishes from the extensive menu. They have Korean, Japanese, Western, and Oriental meals that would appeal to almost everyone. It was definitely the perfect place for our big family to have lunch, since we have varied food preferences most of the time.

I ordered for a serving of the T-Bowl Value Set Lunch, which came with a cold Jasmine green tea and a pudding. The pork served was a bit dry for my taste, but the rice was excellent. I also enjoyed eating the pudding.

Since my family loves dessert, we ordered ice cream and other shaved ice treats to beat the humid Malaysian weather. The restaurant had an interesting array of desserts, but I still chose to have my favourite chocolate ice cream that day. Boy, you should see how they serve the ice cream! All I can say is, it does not look very appetizing at all. But the cold treat was actually yummy.

I can say that my experience at the T-Bowl Concept Restaurant was fun, and my family enjoyed it as well. I just hope that something like this will come to Manila soon.
