America is world-renowned for its love of food. From far-Eastern food to Mexican cuisine, anything goes - the bigger and more adventurous the better! However, one thing that tourists visiting America have in the forefront of their minds is the traditional American diner, the type that you see in the movies. Going to an American diner is one of those things that you just have to try at least once while you're in the country, and Johnny Rocket's in Miami is the perfect place to start.

Located on the infamous Ocean Drive, Johnny Rocket's overlooks Miami Beach, so it's always a hive of activity. Its popularity just enhances the atmosphere, as it feels as though everyone is enjoying themselves and sharing an experience.

If the weather is good (which it usually is in Miami!) there is the opportunity to sit outside, at the front of the restaurant, facing the street and the beach. It's brilliant for people-watching, as Miami is home to people of all different styles! However, if you'd prefer, you can sit inside, and this is where the real all-American dining magic happens.

Walking through the front door is like walking through a time portal back to the 1950s. The walls are lined with booths where families or larger groups of friends can sit, and traditional square tables and chairs are set up in the middle. Red, black and white is the main colourscheme, and great, upbeat music is played throughout.

The menu is incredible; it's full of classic American diner dishes, as you'd expect. There's no way I can deny it: Johnny Rocket's do incredible burgers. Big, juicy, packed with toppings, there's not much more you could ask for from a burger. Sure, they may not be the healthiest or the best quality burgers in the world, but they taste great. The burgers go perfectly with Johnny Rocket's selection of sides, such as their onion rings and chilli cheese fries. My mouth is watering at the memories!

Johnny Rocket's don't just do burgers. They do everything from chilli dogs to grilled cheese melts to salads, and they even have a kids' menu. Their desserts menu is disappointingly limited, but their selection of shakes more than makes up for it! They come in loads of different flavours, and you can even choose to go old school and have a soda float! Johnny Rocket's shakes are thick, creamy, and oh-so-delicious!

The prices are very reasonable. Considering that you're not just paying for the food (which is amazing), but you're paying for the whole American diner experience, it's a real bargain. You can easily feed two people for $20 and have change to spare! The members of staff are friendly, attentive, and really add to the whole experience.

All in all, Johnny Rocket's is the place which you just have to head to if you're looking for an all-American diner experience. There are branches all over America, not just in Miami! At the start I said that you had to try it at least once - Johnny Rocket's is so much fun that I'm sure you'll be heading there several times! You can't get much more in the way of traditional American diners, so if that's the experience you're looking for, then look no further.
