In England, a country which isn't well known for having good weather, Cornwall is generally considered to have the highest temperatures and the sunniest skies. In the far South West of the country, it feels the effects of the Gulf Stream, so is a popular destinations for surfers. Where you find surfers, you also find diners.

The Atlantic Diner is a small surf style diner in the popular Cornish seaside town of Bude, just a few miles from the county's border with Devon. It's a quaint little place, too small and informal to be a restaurant, but much more airy than a typical café. The décor is all done up in a fun, bright, seaside surf theme. The tables and chairs are painted in bright colours and a surfboard is hanging by the ordering point, so the whole place has a really fun, relaxed feel to it. It's the kind of place that feels charming and welcoming to first time visitors, but friendly and dependable to locals.

In the local area, The Atlantic Diner is famed for its incredible milkshakes. They are super thick, super creamy and super flavoursome! There's a wide variety of flavours to choose from as well, ranging from traditional strawberry to more interesting options such as mint choc chip or chocolate cookie. These milkshakes alone are all the reason you need to keep going back!

However, The Atlantic Diner doesn't just stop at food. Their menu is relatively small, but it's full of some really tasty treats. These include burgers, paninis, jacket potatoes and even fish and chips. Perfect for a seaside diner! When I stop in, one of my favourite things on their menu to have as a quick snack is their cheesy curly fries. Curly fries are like heaven in a bowl anyway, but with the addition of cheese sprinkled on top, it just keeps getting better. Cheesy curly fries isn't something I've come across anywhere else before, so it's a must have at The Atlantic Diner.

In all honesty, the prices are not the cheapest - a family of four would struggle to eat for under £20. That said, it's not extortionate for a popular seaside town, and essentially, you're paying for the experience. Surf themed restaurants are really fun places to hang out, so when there's good food and views of the water to go with it, you're on to a winner.

The Atlantic Diner is different from so many other places of its kind because it allows well behaved dogs to visit, along with their owners. This is a brilliant idea, as so many families visit the area, often bringing their dogs with them. By going to The Atlantic Diner, people can go out as a whole family, and not have to worry about where to leave the dogs while they're out.

In sum, The Atlantic Diner is a wonderful little place to stop by for a snack, a light bite or even an amazing milkshake. It's in the perfect spot for holidaymakers, being near the coast, and it's right in the heart of the town, making it ideal for picking up any other holiday essentials. With its surf theme and relaxed atmosphere, The Atlantic Diner is a must-stop place for Cornish locals and holidaymakers alike.
