People close to me knows that I have a severe sweet tooth. I would eat chocolates, cakes, and candies all day if I could. Bring me to a buffet, and I'll head straight away to the dessert section.

Honestly, my sweet tooth is not choosy. I can eat any dessert that you'll serve me, as long as it is sweet. You can give me the most expensive French macaron or a piece of a homemade chocolate truffle, and I'll forever be grateful.

But during the times when I am just too lazy to go to the store to buy a delectable sugary delight, I could come up with my own treat from whatever is available in the cupboard. I can bake a decent brownies, or come up with an amazing panna cotta. Yet when I have just a few moments to spare for cooking a decadent dessert, I would just make my favorite rice krispies treat in order to satisfy my sugar cravings.

Here is my recipe for an easy rice krispies treat:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter

4 cups large marshmallows

5 cups crisp rice cereals

Procedure:

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan.
  2. Add the marshmallows, stir for about two minutes until it melts completely and it is already well-blended with the butter.
  3. Add the rice cereals. Stir until everything is coated with the butter-marshmallow mixture.
  4. In a greased 9x13 pan, spread the hot rice krispies using a buttered spatula. Wait till cool before cutting in 2x2 inch squares.
This recipe for the very easy but very delectable sweet treat is also versatile. You can top it up with crushed chocolate cookie sandwich or drizzle chocolate or caramel syrup for added sweetness. Enjoy!
